Analysis: Can You Have Too Many MacBooks?
This isn’t the first rumor to surface of a new Apple laptop after its launch. WWDC 2022 event. There was also stirring in the vine over a 15 inch MacBook Air and a 12-inch laptop arriving in 2023.
But this addition would mean that Apple is really stacking its deck, as we already have the MacBook Air (M2) and 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2) coming out, and many of the best MacBook models from the Intel era are still available for purchase at many retail sites. And while it’s understandable that you want to cover all your market bases, you run the risk of saturating your own market and causing fatigue among your own fan base with just the sheer number of laptop options.
There is also the continuation supply chain problems, which have been taking place due to COVID-related lockdowns and global chip shortages. Any future issues could restrict Apple’s product launches, which are already being seen shipping delays on their 14-inch and 16-inch machines, so introducing yet another MacBook into the mix might not be all that available even for those who want to buy it for a long time.
