Mint Mobile now plans just $15 a month after ‘deflation’ sale announcement

Prepaid operator Mint Mobile has just announced a big sale of ‘deflation’ (opens in new tab) which reduces the price of all its plans to just $15 per month for the first three months of service.

Regardless of whether you opt for the carrier’s entry-level 4GB data plan or the premium unlimited data plan, you’ll only pay $45 upfront for three months of service now. If you’ve been waiting in the wings, this is a great opportunity to jump in and try the unlimited plan on the carrier. As with most Mint Mobile offers, this one is limited to new customers only – sorry if you’ve already signed up, folks!

Mint Mobile now only $15 a month

This particular promotion comes behind the announcement of Price increases at major carriers Verizon and AT&T – and generally fits the entire David-versus-Goliath angle of Mint Mobile in recent years. Marketing aside, we think Mint Mobile is one of the best prepaid plans on the market right now and it’s definitely worth a look if you’re interested in saving some money.

For those not fully informed, Mint Mobile’s plans essentially follow a bulk purchase pricing scheme where you’ll save money in the long run by committing upfront. There are no contracts and you can buy your data in batches of three months, six months or twelve months, with the annual plan being the cheapest on average per month. In general, Mint offers some of the cheapest cellular plans on the market, but you will have to pay a fair amount upfront (outside of this promotion), so keep that in mind.
