Welcome to day 2 of this delicious live blog. ‘s computing team helped thousands of people buy a new laptop yesterday, and I’m leading the effort to do the same on the second day of Prime Day.

Yes I agree. Why is it still called Prime Day when it’s now over 72 hours?

We covered this on our main Prime Day deals blog, but it’s so weird I thought I should come here too.

Plus, it’s the only deal that’s launched on a laptop today, so I thought it was probably worth sharing – although I realize the Surface Pro X comes with a Qualcomm chipset.

Please note that this does not come with the signature keyboard, so you will need to buy it separately (and dropped to £104 in Prime Day sales) – but this laptop/tablet is designed to charge a smartphone-like battery, and we found it manages around 9 hours in testing.

The screen is also a big plus; a tiny bezel and bright AMOLED panel make the colors incredibly vibrant. If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone (or any other Galaxy product), you can take advantage of the ‘Galaxy Ecosystem’ features to sync your devices with ease.

An RTX 3060 and Ryzen 7 5800H processor means the Legion S7 is well equipped for 1080p gaming, and games look great on its vibrant 15.6-inch display. It also has a generally crisp aesthetic, with a machined metal exterior and one of the brightest RGB keyboards we’ve ever seen on a laptop.

Acer Aspire Vero

Okay okay, I couldn’t resist. This is Jess Weatherbed, here to provide you with some last-minute bargains as the night draws to a close, and this first one is a selfish indulgence.

The Acer Aspire Vero laptop is a unique offering on the market, and if you take a look at its chassis, you’ll soon see why – this laptop’s case is made entirely from recycled plastic, which gives it a captivating speckled look.

This is not only great news for our planet, but also for our consciousness. Buying new technology might leave some people feeling a little guilty about the environmental impact, but Acer has worked hard to set the Vero line up as a great example of what a green laptop can be.

It’s not difficult either, with a choice of the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i5 or i7 processors and plenty of RAM to keep your apps running smoothly. We recommend the i7 version of the laptop as it gets 16GB of RAM and double the storage of the i5 model, but both come at a good price.
